Do you have questions regarding oral health, dental care, dental treatments or even our dental practice? Well, you’re in the right place! Welcome to our Dental FAQs page. At Central Park Dental Care, we believe that education is essential to our patient’s oral health and we strive to answer our patients’ frequently asked questions. Notice a FAQ missing that you’d like to know about? Let us know; we’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.

How often should I brush?

We recommend that every patient brush their teeth after each meal. For those that are on-the-go and can’t brush their teeth after certain meals, we recommend at least using mouthwash and thoroughly rinsing your mouth.

How often should I replace my toothbrush?

You should replace your toothbrush at least every 3-4 months. However, if you get sick or notice your toothbrush is worn or damaged, we recommend replacing it immediately.

Is an electric or manual toothbrush better?

Research has shown that electric and manual toothbrushes are equally effective as long as you are properly using them. Certain patients with mobility issues may benefit from an electric toothbrush. We recommend talking to your Auburn dentist if you can’t decide.

How often should I floss?

We recommend that you floss your teeth at least once each day.

Should I clean my tongue?

Of course! Bacteria live all over your mouth, including your tongue and can contribute to bad breath, decay, infection and even disease.

How often should I see the dentist?

At Central Park Dental Care, we recommend the most of our patients see us bi-annually (every 6 months). However, certain patients such as those with gum disease, frequent decay or other dental complications may need to see us more often to manage their condition properly.

I have dental anxiety, what should I do?

At Central Park Dental Care, we understand some patients aren’t our biggest fans. We offer various sedation dentistry options which can provide you with a calmer and relaxing experience while at the dentist. Depending upon which sedation dentistry you choose, we do recommend having someone to drive you to/from your appointment.

What is preventive dentistry?

Preventive dentistry is dental care that focuses on preventing potential dental problems from developing and helping you maintain good oral health. Dental checkups, teeth cleanings, sealants, and x-rays are preventive dental services.

What restorative dental services do you offer?

Central Park Dental Care offers standard restorative dentistry procedures at any other dental clinic. Whether you're looking to get a dental crown to protect a weak tooth or want to fix a gap in your smile with teeth replacements like dentures, we offer a good selection of restorative dental services that cater to our patient's needs. We encourage anyone looking for a healthier bite to visit us.

How often should I come in for a checkup?

We'd recommend that patients come in for a checkup once every six months to ensure optimal oral health. Patients can have peace of mind if a dental problem arises as our practitioners are highly experienced and can deliver reliable dental treatment when needed.

Will I experience any pain during treatment?

No, you can expect a pain-free experience when coming in for treatments. We also offer sedation dentistry, which keeps you calm and at ease during the procedure.
